This article examines consumer demand for counterfeit pharmaceuticals. Professor Bird suggests that pharmaceutical companies can effectively use advertising and marketing campaigns to increase awareness of the dangers of counterfeit pharmaceuticals, promoting the use of genuine pharmaceuticals and decreasing demand for these dangerous substitutes.
